Useful information to support people affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine
In line with the activities provided by its mandate and considering the human rights-based approach, the Romanian Institute for Human Rights, taking into account the latest developments in the promotion and respect of the rights of persons seeking protection from our state, provides the following useful information:
1. Regarding the work of the officials: Romanian authorities responsible for providing assistance to Ukrainian refugees (the Department for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the International Organisation for Migration and the National Romanian Council for Refugees) have created the platform DOPOMOHA.RO in partnership with Code for Romania. On the platform, refugees can find out details about the transit procedure, the situation at the border, the procedure for applying for asylum in Romania, the Regional Centres for Procedures and Accommodation for Asylum Seekers, etc.

For citizens: if Romanian nationals would like to donate for supporting Ukrainian refugees, they can answer the call of Red Cross Romania “Umanitatea nu are granițe” (Humanity knows no borders) and make a donation on the Romanian Red Cross website or directly to the accounts created for this campaign opened at BRD Piața Romană Agency:
