Launch of ENNHRI Annual Report 2021
In August 2022, ENNHRI launched its 2021 Annual Report. The Report presents the achievements of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions in 2021, bearing in mind that many activities of NHRIs took place in difficult conditions. These achievements show the flexibility, adaptability and resilience of the institutions working in the field of promoting and protecting human rights.
The report highlights a greater recognition of NHRIs at the regional level from both the EU and Council of Europe reflected in the adoption of the Council’s Recommendation on NHRIs during a high-level meeting. The Report notes that the network mobilised support for NHRIs that faced a series of threats and difficulties.
Among other achievements were also ENNHRI’s second report on the rule of law across Europe, the regional report on the human rights of migrants at borders and the first Leadership Forum for NHRI`s leaders. The document also highlights the adoption of the Strategic Plan 2022-2025.
