Attendance at the meeting of the Senate Committee on Human Rights
On 25 February 2022, the Romanian Institute for Human Rights attended the emergency meeting organised by the Committee for Human Rights, Equal Opportunities, Cults and Minorities, on the establishment and monitoring of the respect of the rights of persons with asylum or refugee status in Ukraine. Participants discussed, analysed and identified solutions on providing information to asylum seekers and refugees, stepping up preparations for providing assistance, involvement of civil society through the collection of food and donations, the management of the situation of unaccompanied minors, the establishment of minimum standards for the reception of persons seeking protection from the Romanian state.
