GANHRI Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GAHNRI) was held between November 30 - December 4. Given the exceptional conditions in 2020, the meeting took place online, with the participation of over 300 guests– experts and representatives of human rights institutions.
The Romanian Institute for Human Rights also participated on December 4 in the Annual GANHRI Conference on “Climate change: The role of national human rights institutions”.
During the Conference, representatives of NHRIs from various countries, including Argentina, Kenya, the Philippines, Scotland, tackled issues and challenges on the impact of climate change on human rights.
Concluding the event, NHRIs representatives adopted the “Statement on Climate Change and the Role of National Human Rights Institutions”, which will be a reference document for NHRIs individual and collective action on climate change.
