Convention of the Romanians Abroad
Representatives of the Romanian Human Rights Institute participated at the works of the Convention of the Romanians Abroad, which took place at the palace of Parliament, on Friday, January 24, 2020.
The Convention sets up the necessary institutional framework for organizing direct and professional debates on issues about Romanian diaspora and Romanian living in historical communities.
The works of the Convention tackled four thematic areas: (1) Romania form abroad, represented in the Romanian parliament; (2) Romanians` statute on the EU labour market. Solutions and targets for the return of Romanians to the country; (3) Education-identity-spirituality; (4) Republic of Moldova – between West and East.
The debates were attended by officials of the Romanian Parliament, Romanian diplomats, experts in international relations, representatives of the academia and cultural institutions from diaspora, Romania and neighbouring countries.
