Working meeting on mental health
The Romanian Society for Supporting the Elderly and the Sufferers with Alzheimer and Habilitas Association – Center for Resources and Vocational Training, had held on Thursday, February 12, 2020, a working meeting in order to draft a public policy proposal in the field of mental health. The working meeting is part of the project ”Mental health – a priority on the public agenda”, developed under the Operational Programme "Administrative Capacity".
As a result of numerous previous debates, 7 strategic directions of action were proposed, each assuming concrete, sub-thematic action plans. During the meeting, the participants addressed the first two topics, namely: the creation of the national registry of people diagnosed with dementia in Romania, and informing and raising awareness among the population regarding the approach of the neurodegenerative disorders.
Participants to the meeting included the Romanian Institute for Human Rights representative and specialists in the field of public policy development, representatives of the General Directorates of Social Assistance and Child Protection, the Romanian Psychiatric Association and other institutions with competences in the field, as well as the project`s management and implementation team.
