Global monitoring system
On December 6, 2017, the United Nations Health Agency launched its first global dementia monitoring system, which is expected to affect 152 million people worldwide by 2050 - three times the current figure of 50 million - given the aging of the world's population. Dementia includes Alzheimer's disease as well as other types of memory loss and cognitive disabilities.
